Bodies Of Two Women Found In Clare
The bodies of two women have been discovered on a beach in Co Clare.
The discovery was made at White Strand near Miltown Malbay at about 10.30am. A spokesperson for Gardaí said they have launched an investigation and technical experts have examined the scene.
The bodies of the two females are believed to be middle-aged. An English-registered car was found abandoned nearby.
The bodies have been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where post mortems examinations are to be carried out. The state pathologist's office has been notified.
Gardaí say foul play is not suspected.
In other County Clare news, Gardaí in Kilrush said they are investigating a stabbing incident in which five men were injured in the early hours of this morning.
Four people are being treated in hospital following the altercation which took place in a house off Burton Street in Kilrush around 1.30 this morning.
Five men were involved in the row which took place in a house at Place de Plouzane in Kilrush late last night - a serious fight ensued at around half past one this morning and Gardaí say the assailants and victims are known to each other.
Four of the men were rushed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick with various stab wounds and other injuries including a broken arm in the case of one man.
Gardaí say their injuries are not thought to be life threatening - It's understood a fifth man left the scene.
Anyone with information on the stabbings should contact Kilrush Garda Station.

The victim has been taken to hospital but no details of his condition have been released. The scene of the shooting has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

A man has been detained in connection with the discovery of a body in Co Clare. The body of the 27-year-old was found outside a house in Kilrush this morning. The victim was found shot dead in the garden of a house on O'Gorman Street at around 10.30am.
