Arrest Made Over Smithfield Incident

Gardaí from the Bridewell Garda Station investigating circumstances following a firearm incident in Smithfield, Dublin, have arrested a male juvenile in Dundalk.

The incident took place on the morning the 6th of March at approximately 11.30am.

A male is being detained at Store Street Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Two males (no ages currently available) received injuries not thought to be life threatening. They were taken Hospitals in the City centre.

A suspect device was also found in the area.

Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this incident or to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact the Bridewell Garda Station.

The PSNI is working with Gardai after a girl who went missing from Cork is believed to have travelled to Belfast. Leigh Arundel, 15, may be with an older male according to the police. Leigh went missing from her home on 05 September. She has a tattoo with the name 'Jimmy' on her left hand.

Three Garda Officers Investigated Over Alleged Street Fight
An investigation is underway after three Dublin-based Garda officers were allegedly involved in a street fight after trying to solicit prostitutes while on a night out in Limerick. It is claimed that a large group of off-duty Garda officers where socialising in a pub in Limerick's city centre when the alleged incident took place.

Gardaí Renew Appeal Over Remains Found At Dublin Recycling Plant
Gardaí have renewed an appeal for help in identifying the remains of a man found at a recycling plant in Dublin in July. The human remains were found on 31 July at Thornton's Recycling Plant on Killeen Road, Ballyfermot. Gardaí say that they believe it to be a European male, aged between 25 and 45 and approximately 5'8" to 6' tall.

Appeal For Witnesses After Traffic Collision
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a fatal traffic collision in Galway. Gardaí at Tuam have launched the appeal as part of an ongoing investigating a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R362 at Lissyconnor, which is the main Dunmore to Glenamaddy Road.
