Woman's Body Found On Clare Beach

Detectives are investigating after the discovery of a woman's body on a beach in County Clare.

The body washed up on Fanore Strand and the alarm was raised by a passer-by.

Gardaí at Ennistymon issued an appeal on Wednesday to trace the whereabouts of 43-year-old Deirdre Mc Carthy of Turlough House, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare

She was last seen at her home on Sunday 27th March 2011 and failed to turn up for work the following morning.

Gardai have sealed off the scene ahead of formal identification of the body.

Man To Be Charged With McCarthy Murder
A man questioned over the murder of Deirdre McCarthy is expected to appear in court today to be charged in connection with her murder. Ms McCarthy, 43, from Turlough House, Ballyvaughan, was found dead on Fanore Strand last Thursday. She was last seen at her home on Sunday 27th March 2011 and failed to turn up for work the following morning.

Body Discovered On Mornington Beach
Gardai from Laytown are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a male in his 40s found on Mornington Beach, Co Meath. The Office of the State pathologist has been notified. The body is still at the scene. The area has been sealed off for a Technical examination. The body was discovered at approx 9.

Body Found In Co Donegal
Gardai have launched an investigation after a body was discovered in Bundoran, Co Donegal, this morning (25 April). The body, believed to be a man aged in his 60's or 70's, was found near the shore in the West End of the town. It is believed the body remains at the scene.

Investigation Launched After Body Found In Carlow
The body of a woman has been found in a house in Carlow. Gardaí say that the body of a 37-year-old woman was discovered at a house in the Craigcullen area of Carlow at about 21:45 on Sunday. The body remains at the scene to allow for a forensic examination. The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
