Explosives Truck Crashes Into Offaly Shop
A truck carrying explosive components has crashed into a shop in Moneygall, Co Offaly.
The incident happened shortly after 8am this morning.
No one was injured in the incident.
Fire services say the contents of the truck posed no risk as they had not been mixed.
Damage to the front window of the shop was reported.
The property is owned by the Donovan family, owners of the ancestral home of the US President Barack Obama.

Bin Lorry Crashes Into Dingle Shop
An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding a bin lorry crashing into a shop front in Dingle, Co Kerry, on Wednesday afternoon. The driver of the lorry is being treated in hospital for injuries sustained when his truck hit a number of cars on Green Street before crashing into the shop front of the Woollen Store at about 13:30.

Six Year Jail Term For IRA Extortionist
The Special Criminal Court has jailed a Dublin man who extorted more than a quarter of a million euro from a fish and chip shop owner in the city by threatening him with the Real IRA. “It is abundantly clear that this activity was ordinary criminal racketeering and terrorising ordinary innocent people,” said Mr Justice Paul Butler.

Lorry Slips Off Pier Into Sea
A truck carrying materials for an island house owned by Daniel O’Donnell’s wife Majella slipped off a pier into the sea yesterday. It slid into the water off Owey Island pier, Co Donegal, when carrying tiles and other materials for the house. No injuries were reported and it is understood there may be a bid to salvage the truck at low tide today.

Traffic Problems Ease Following Truck Incident
Traffic is reportedly returning to normal in Dublin after an overturned truck caused traffic chaos earlier. The truck overturned around 5:50am on Monday morning on the East Wall Road near the Point Depot. The truck and trailer have now been removed and a fuel spill was also treated.
