'Controversy' Over Awarding Of FAS Contract

Talks over legislation to regulate political lobbying has resulted in a clash between the Government and the Opposition.

The dispute comes after news that a public relations firm with links to the Taoiseach won a contract to provide services to the State agency FAS.

The contract was awarded before Fine Gael came to power, however Eamon O'Cuiv, Fianna Fáil's communications spokesperson described it as a "controversy".

He urged the Government to enforce legislation to regulate political lobbyists.

The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has accused Fianna Fáil of saying one thing in Opposition, but another when they were in government.
