Poverty On The Rise In Ireland

According to a major international report poverty is on the rise among families in Ireland.

The OECD study highlighted the outcome as a result of the financial and banking crisis.

The report also pinpointed the the cost of childcare, taking on average 40% of a family budget, compared to just 20% in other countries.

Other problems listed included personal loans and utility bills.

The study reported that the high costs involved acted as a barrier to employment, especially for low-income single parents.
