Fourth Arrest Made Over Aggravated Burglary

Gardaí from Mountjoy Garda Station responding to a call of aggravated burglary on Botanic Avenue in Dublin have made a fourth arrest.

Early this afternoon a 15-year-old male was arrested in Dublin City and is presently in custody under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at the Bridewell Garda Station.

On Wednesday night around 11.30pm five males entered a house, ransacked it and stole some property. They also falsely imprisoned the 21 year old male occupant, taking him at knifepoint to his car and driving him to 2 separate ATM machines. He managed to escape and his car is still missing. No persons were injured over the course of these events.

The car is a light blue coloured Opel Corsa.

After a follow up investigation Gardaí from the Community Policing and Detective Units at Mountjoy arrested three males aged 15, 16 and 18 years in the Botanic Avenue area. They were taken to the Bridewell and Store Street Garda Stations where they were detained. The 15 year old was released yesterday.

The two males who appeared in court this morning have been remanded in custody for a week.

Some of the property taken in the robbery was recovered.

Anyone with information to offer regarding this incident or who may be aware of the car's whereabouts is asked to contact Gardaí at Mountjoy.
