Hollywood Stars 'Acting Lecturers' At Trinity

A new acting academy in Trinity College Dublin is to welcome a number of Irish Hollywood A-listers who will be giving talks as 'Acting Lecturers' to their new students.

The cast of lecturers is expected to include Colin Farrell, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Day Lewis, Colm Meaney and Saoirse Ronan, all of whom will be speaking to the Academy's 14 students at the new Lir. - the National Academy of Dramatic Art at Trinity College Dublin.

The aim is to train young actors, designers, directors, playwrights, stage managers and theatre technicians to the highest international standards for careers in the theatre and allied professions.

According to a spokesman for the school, The Lir has fostered close links with the allied professions of film, television and new media and that training would be supplemented by guest lectures and workshops from leading international figures of stage and screen.

Trinity expects The Lir will be able to compete with the revered Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.

The exclusive academy is located in a cutting edge building designed specifically for the range of courses featuring a flexible black box studio, as well as 2 further performance studios, a dance studio, technical workshop, and a range of flexible teaching spaces to suit the training of The Lir's young theatre practitioners.

Bollywood Comes To Ireland

Trinity Drama School Building 'Takes Off'

Researchers from the School of Medicine in Trinity College Dublin have helped to identify over 100 locations in the human genome associated with the risk of developing the condition.
