Cork Faces Royal Closures
Cork is to be partly closed off on Friday as part of plans for the Queen and Prince Philip to end their historic visit to Ireland with a trip to the Irish National Stud in Co Kildare, as well as the Rock of Cashel in Co Tipperary and finally, a technology park in Cork.
The Gardaí said that several streets in Cork would now be closed to traffic on the 20th May from 10am to 4pm.
These are Tuckey Street, North Main Street, South Main Street, Copley Street and Union Quay.
Douglas Street will have a one-way system in operation from Langford Row Junction to Evergreen Street Junction for all traffic travelling in that direction during this time.
Also closed will be Batchelors Quay, Grenville Place, Grattan Street, Liberty Street, Adelaide Street, Kyle Street, Castle Street, Cornmarket Street and Paul Street.
Closed from 1noon to 4pm will be Georges Quay, Sullivan's Quay, South Terrace, Infirmary Road, Ruthland Street, White Street, Dunbar Street, Mary Street and Cobh Street.
A police statement said there would be no access to the city centre from the western suburbs via the Western Road.
Traffic attempting to enter the city centre via this route will be diverted via Sundays Well Road or Wilton Road.
No parking will be allowed on Douglas Street or Sullivan's Quay, from 6pm, on Thursday the 19th May.

Dublin Prepares For Cold Snap
Dublin City Council has revealed a plan to make the city winter-ready. Last year snow and ice caused problems on the city's roads and footpaths. Over 2,350 tonnes of salt has been stockpiled and 1,155 more tonnes is being sought from the National Roads Authority to keep streets free of snow and ice.

Cyclist Killed In Collision With Lorry
Gardaí in Limerick have confirmed a cyclist has died following a collision with a lorry. The cyclist, thought to be woman aged in her 30s, died after colliding with an articulated lorry at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr. Matthew Bridge and Charlotte's Quay at about 07.30 on Wednesday morning.

Waterford Streets Closed After Fire
Several streets in the city centre of Waterford remain closed this morning, following a fire that raged in the area on Thursday evening. Around 50 fire fighters from Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny worked together to bring the blaze under control.

Two Missing People Found 'Safe And Well'
Gardaí have confirmed that two people previously reported missing have been found "safe and well". 26-year-old Alex Seery, who was reported missing from Coolock, Dublin on 17 July, has been found safe and well, gardaí have reported. Separately, 17-year-old Dylan Lavele, who had been missing since 14 July from Gyles Quay, Dundalk, Co.
