Galway Harbour Redevelopment On Way
According to reports, the proposed €200 million redevelopment of Galway Harbour has received approval to proceed to a planning application submission stage.
Following a Pre-Application Consultation with An Bord Pleanála, the project has been deemed a strategic infrastructure development and a planning application is expected to be lodged with An Bord Pleanála in August 2011.
The development proposed by the Galway Harbour Company will include the redevelopment of Galway port and harbour and also the provision of new marine leisure facilities and cruise ship docking for 200 boats.

'Ireland's Most Expensive House' Redevelopment Application Rejected
An Bord Pleanála has rejected an application to redevelop "Ireland's most expensive house". The proposal for Walford, on Shrewsbury Road in Dublin, had sought permission to extend the existing property to almost double its size and add four additional houses in the back garden.

Gardaí Hope To Identify Body Found At Rossaveal Harbour
Gardaí searching for a missing schoolteacher from Dublin have discovered a body in a car at Rossaveal Harbour yesterday. Family members of Rosanne Kenny, 42, who disappeared on New Years Eve, are travelling to Galway to help with the identification of a body, believed to be Ms Kenny's.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Co Wicklow Road Crash
A man has died in Co Wicklow when his motorcycle was involved in a road crash in Blessington at around 18:35 on Wednesday evening. The motorcyclist collided with a car at Crosscool Harbour, suffering serious injuries. He was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Cork Cargo Terminal Planning Permission Refused
Planning permission for a multi-million euro cargo terminal in Cork Harbour has been denied. Speculation the application could fail came after more than 500 objections against the development were lodged with the planning appeals body. A three-week public hearing was held then held in April before a final decision by An Bord Pleanála.
