Northern Road Crash Victim Named

The North's police has released the name of the motorcyclist who died in a crash in Co Down on Sunday.

He was John O'Neill, 45, from the Poleglass area died as a result of an accident on the Magheraknock Road in Ballynahinch.

His bike was involved in a collision with a car shortly before 2.30pm with the road closed for a time afterwards.

The NI Health Minister Edwin Poots has sympathised with the O'Neill family circle after the tragedy on Sunday.

The DUP politician said: "I send my sincere condolences to the family at this time of grief and loss. I didn't know Mr. O'Neill but I live a short distance from the scene and as I travelled on Sunday, I came upon the accident.

"The family are foremost in my prayers at this difficult time," he said.

Couple Killed In Caravan Blaze
Two people have died following a fire in a mobile home in County Galway. It is not yet known if the fire, which broke out about at 2.00am on Wednesday, was started deliberately. A gardai spokesperson said the bodies of a man and a woman, believed to be a married couple, were found at Poolboy in Ballinasloe.

Man Killed In Fatal Road Accident In Co Cork
Gardaí in Co Cork have reported the death of a 25-year-old man in a road accident. It is understood the man was fatally injured when his tractor struck a ditch shortly after midnight on the Glanworth to String Cross Road at Glanworth, Co. Cork. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Coroner and the Health and Safety Authority have been notified.
