Two Killed In Kilkenny Crash

Two people have been killed in a road traffic collision in Kilkenny.

The incident happened around 6.45pm on Wednesday at Troyswood on the Kilkenny to Freshford Road.

Two cars were involved in the crash. Three people were in the first car - a 65-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene; a 61-year-old female who was pronounced dead at St Luke's Hospital and another woman who was taken to St Luke's for treatment.

Two people in the other vehicle were also taken to St Luke's for treatment.

The couple who died have been named as Tommy and Angela Kenneally of Templemore, Co Tipperary.

One Injured In Kilkenny Crash
A male pedestrian is reported to be seriously ill in hospital after being involved in a road crash in Kilkenny. It is understood that the man was struck by a lorry near Lehearts on the Kilkenny to Waterford road around 10:20am on Tuesday. He is being treated in St Luke's Hospital.

Yellow Weather Warning Issued For Heavy Rain

The warning came into effect at 11pm on Sunday night, 13 October, and is in place until 11.59pm on Monday, 14 October. Met Eireann has updated its weather warning status to orange for the east of the country. This means a further snow warning for Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Wicklow and Meath, with accumulations of up to 5cm.

Two Die On Irish Roads In 24 Hours
Two drivers have been killed on the State's roads in the last 24 hours in two separate accidents. In the latest incident, Gardaí at Blarney said they are investigating a fatal road collision, which occurred at approximately 9.30am this morning. It happened on the N20 near the village of Rathduff and involved an articulated truck and a car.
