Met Eireann Issue Severe Weather Warning
As heavy rain and strong winds continue to batter Ireland a severe weather warning has been issued for at least the next 24 hours.
Met Éireann has released the warning and are advising motorists to exercise extreme care on the roads where spot flooding and debris are making driving conditions dangerous.
The east and south of the country are the worst effected with winds reaching up to 100kph and heavy downpours causing flooding, although winds are expected to moderate in the afternoon.
Last night Met Eireann said it expected showers to develop in all areas with up to 70mm of rain expected to fall between now and Tuesday morning.
Coastal counties of Munster and Leinster are most at risk for the highest rainfall and flooding is probable in some areas.
Theres a gale warning in place and high winds are expected on Irish coastal waters from Fair Head to Carlingford Lough to Mizen Head and on the Irish Sea.

Met Éireann Issue Yellow Warning For Wind And Rain
A yellow warning has been issued by Met Éireann for heavy rain and strong winds across most parts of Ireland from Friday evening until Sunday. The forecaster has predicted between 60 and 90mm of rain in coastal and mountainous areas. Temperatures will range between 15 to 18 degrees tomorrow, dropping to 13 to 15 degrees on Sunday.

Met Éireann has issued a yellow warning for gale force winds in coastal areas. The forecaster has warned small craft boats to avoid going the sea today as winds are expected to reach speeds of 55kmph into the afternoon. Cold temperatures and showers are expected throughout the day, with rain turning heavy in the evening.

Met Éireann has issued a 'yellow' weather warning for all 26 counties. The warning for severe winds has been put in place until 4pm today, 10 December. In a statement Met Éireann said: :Wet and windy this morning with outbreaks of rain, heavy and squally at times.
