Hospital Waiting Lists Rise
Hospital treatment waiting lists have risen to over 30,000 new figures have revealed.
At the end of September 30,756 adults and children were waiting over three months for in patient or day procedures in hospitals, according to the HSE.
There has been a 50% increase on the waiting list figures since the end of last year.
Figures have increased since Health Minister James Reilly launched a Special Delivery Unit to reduce waiting times at the end of July.
There is a reported backlog of 2,000 since August.

The government's record on outpatient waiting lists has been described as "abysmal", with new figures revealing a 323% increase in the number of people waiting more than 18 months for an outpatient appointment at University Hospital Galway – they're up from 1,184 in May 2016 to 5,008 at the end of January this year.
