Gardaí Arrest Four Over Cork Armed Robbery

Four people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that took place in County Cork in August.

Gardai from Cobh and Middleton said they had made the four arrests on Wednesday morning as part of their investigation into the armed robbery at a Bank in Glanmire Co. Cork on the August 5.

Three males and a female, aged in their 20s & 30s, were arrested following an operation in Cork City and East Cork. They are currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, at Cobh and Middleton Garda Stations.

A spokesman for local Gardaí said that at approximately 10.00am on the morning of the robbery, two men armed with a shotgun and a sledgehammer approached and threatened staff making a Cash in Transit delivery at a Bank at Hazelwood shopping centre in Glanmire.

Following a struggle with staff both men fled empty handed. The suspects made their escape in a car, which was later found on fire near Windsor Hill, Glounthaune.

Garda Hunt Man Following Attempted Armed Robbery
Gardaí are searching for a man in connection with the attempted armed robbery of an Ulster Bank in Blackpool, County Cork. According to reports, a man entered the branch and produced a knife. He threatened staff with the knife and demanded cash. It is understood that a bank teller gave the man a special cash bundle containing a dye pack.

Firearm Found Following Cork Robbery
Gardai have discovered a firearm following a robbery at a house in Cork. The shotgun was found in a field near the home of a businessman at Gluntahaune during searches on Monday. Five men have been arrested and are currently being detained in custody. The weapon has been sent for forensic examination.

Three Arrests Following Armed Robbery In Cork
Three people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Cork. Two masked men armed with knives stole a sum of cash at a petrol station on Leitrim Street at around 8.30pm on Thursday night. The men made off from the scene in a car which was driven by another man and also had a female passenger.

An Post Worker's Family Held Hostage
Gardaí are continuing investigations into an attempted robbery in which a family was held hostage. The incident took place last night around 9.30pm, when a gang of four armed men entered a house in Co Kildare. The family of six were held overnight.

Man Arrested Over Cash-In-Transit Van Robbery
Gardaí in Dublin have arrested a man in connection with a cash-in-transit van robbery early on Friday morning. It is understood that a number of armed men held up the van at about 07:40am on Cork Street in Dublin, making off with a sum of money.
