Two Arrested And Firearms Found In Co Wicklow
Two people have been arrested and firearms recovered in County Wicklow, according to Gardaí on Friday.
A spokesman said that at approximately 11.20am Wednesday, Gardaí carrying out a checkpoint on the N11 at Coynes Cross, Ashford, stopped and searched a motor car, during which two hand guns were recovered.
The occupants of the car, a man and a woman both aged in their 20s, were arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at Wicklow Garda Station.
The woman has since been released pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
The man is expected to appear before a sitting of Bray District Court on Friday morning charged in relation to the incident.

Man Injured In Shooting In Bray, Co Wicklow
Gardaí have launched an investigation after a man was shot in Bray, Co Wicklow, on Thursday evening. The man, believed to be in his 20s, is currently being treated at St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin. He is believed to have been shot in the People's Park in Bray at around 5.30pm. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Men Arrested Over €1m Cocaine And Heroin Find
Heroin and cocaine, with an estimated street value of €1m, has been recovered in a house search in Ballyfermot on Tuesday. Gardaí arrested two men, aged in their 30s, at the scene after officers uncovered 13kgs of cocaine worth an estimated €900,000 and 1.5kgs of heroin, with an estimated value of €225,000.
