Appeal For Witnesses To Crash

Another appeal has been launched in connection with the road crash that resulted in the death of a woman in Cork last week.

Gardai at Douglas said they were making a further appeal over the fatal road traffic collision, which occurred on the November 14. During the incident, Ms Regina Kennedy a pedestrian was fatally injured in a road traffic collision at Carrshill Douglas Cork.

Gardai said they were appealing for any taxi drivers or hackney drivers who may have picked up a female on Patrick St Cork between 1.30am and 2.15am on November 14 and taken her to Kilbrody, Mount Oval Estate, Douglas to contact them on 021 – 4857670, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Ms Kennedy was killed at approximately 2.20am when she was struck by a car at Carrshill, Douglas. She was aged 37 years, from Blarney St Cork and formerly of Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

She was last seen in the vicinity of the South Mall at approximately 10.30pm on Sunday. (DW)

68-Year-Old 'Traumatised' After Being Stabbed By Intruder In His Home
A 68-year-old man has been stabbed and knocked unconscious after he disturbed an intruder in his home. According to garda, the man returned home at about 16:15 on Wednesday and disturbed a burglar in his South Douglas Road home. The intruder hit the man on the head and stabbed him in the stomach before making off.

Man Leaves Scene Of Fatal Accident
A man has been arrested after fleeing from the scene of a fatal accident on County Cork in the early hours of this morning. Two men in their 20s were killed in a head on collision of two vehicles at approximately 2.45am this morning on the N25 at Caherulton, Castlemartyr, County Cork.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Death Of Man
Gardai investigating the death of Donal Manley, whose body was discovered in his house at High Street in Cork city, are appealing for witnesses to contact them. In a statement issued by Gardaí today, officers are asking people who may regularly travel in the High Street area of Cork city to try to recall last Friday.

Mandate 'Disputes Committee' Meeting To Be Held Today
Trade union Mandate, which represents workers at supermarket chain Dunnes Stores, is to hold a special 'disputes committee' meeting in Dublin today. It is understood the meeting will be attended by shop stewards from across Ireland and will hold a vote on further proposed industrial action, in a dispute over pay, conditions and working hours.
