Hit & Run Victim Dies

The victim of a fatal hit and run incident has been named as 14-year-old Conor Hickey from St. Attracta Road, Cabra.

The hit and run incident was in Dublin last Friday and is being probed with Gardaí at Cabra appealing for information following the road traffic collision in which the boy was struck by a car.

The incident occurred at the junction of St Eithne Rd and Fassaugh Rd in Cabra, Dublin 7 at approx 5.40pm on the 2nd December. The car, described of silver colour, failed to remain at the scene. The boy was removed to Temple St Hospital in a serious condition but has since died.

There has been other roads deaths - this time in the North - with a young Co Antrim woman killed in after a tragic car accident at the weekend - and a woman from Banbridge has also now died in hospital after a separate accident.

The 20-year-old female - who was later named as Ammie Rea from Ballyclare - was killed following a serious one-vehicle road traffic collision on the Ballymena Road, Doagh on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a 45-year-old woman has now died in hospital after being injured in an accident in Portadown at the weekend.

Man Seriously Injured In Dublin Shooting
A man is being treated in hospital after receiving serious injures in a shooting attack in Cabra, Dublin. The incident happened on the Killala Road at around 7.30pm on Sunday. The 54-year-old victim, who is known to gardaí, was shot a number of times when he was walking his dog. He is in a serious condition at the Mater Hospital.

Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Hit-And-Run & Shooting Incident
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information after a cyclist was run off the road before being shot a number of times in Dublin. Shortly after 9.30pm last night, Monday 27 March, a man was cycling on James Joyce Street when he was struck by a silver Ford Focus, license plate 08CN6682, at the junction of James Joyce Street and Sean McDermott Street.

Irish Tourist Killed In Hit-And-Run Incident
An Irish man has been killed in a hit-and-run traffic incident while on holiday in Florida. Police in North Lauderdale have said a 41-year-old man died after he was hit by a BMW SUV. He and two Irish friends had just left a bar and were on their way back to the hotel early yesterday morning, when the man was hit while crossing a street.
