Four Arrested Over Conspiracy To Rob

Four men have been arrested for engaging in a conspiracy to rob a commercial premises in Greystones this December.

Gardai attached to the Organised Crime Unit (OCU), Harcourt Square assisted by a number of National units on Wednesday said they arrested four males for conspiracy to rob.

The men were arrested at around 9.10pm on Wednesday evening, while all four are being detained under the provisions of the Criminal Justice Act.

Three of the males are aged 21,31 and 37yrs and are being detained in Bray Garda station. The fourth male, who is 17, is being detained at Wicklow Garda station.

Baseball bats and a hatchet were recovered at the scene. A Garda car was damage in the incident but no injuries were recieved.

Four Arrested Following Drug Seizure In Dublin
Four men have been arrested after Gardai seized a large quantity of cannibis and cash following a planned operation in Dublin on Thursday. Gardai stopped and searched a car on Kylemore Road and found 1kg of cannabis yesterday afternoon. Three men, ranging from their late 20s to 50s, were arrested and are being detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station.

Five Suspected Dissident Republicans Arrested
Gardaí in Dublin have announced they have made five arrests in connection with an investigation into dissident republicans in the capital. Officers involved in the investigation detained a total of four men and one woman. Four of those arrested are aged in their 20s and one male is in his 60s.

Customs Seize 120,000 Illegal Cigarettes
Cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €57,000 have been seized by customs officers at Cork Airport. Some 120,000 Marlboro cigarettes were discovered in 12 suitcases that had arrived on a flight from Wroclaw, Poland. Garda arrested two men, understood to be Polish nationals, in connection with the find.
