Two Pre-Christmas Deaths Probed By Police
With less than a week to go to Christmas, two families in the North are facing the festive break in tragic circumstances.
Two separate fatalities are being probed today with a 28-year-old man found fatally hurt at the rear of the Flagship Centre in the Bingham Street area of Bangor at about 9.30am on Sunday. He was later named as Ryan Anderson from Portavogie.
Mr Anderson was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries but later died.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out and the PSNI are examining CCTV footage to try to establish what happened to him.
However, at this stage they do not know how he received his injuries and said Mr Anderson's death is not believed to be suspicious.
The other festive week death took place just after midnight on Friday night and left Colin McLeister, 48, from Coleraine, dead.
He fell down stairs at the Playhouse entertainment complex in Portrush in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A post mortem examination has taken place on the body and the PSNI said a 34-year-old man arrested on Saturday is still being questioned.
They have asked for anyone who saw "an altercation on the first floor of the venue at 12.50am to contact them".
