Woman Arrested Over 1988 Murder

A woman in her late 30s has been arrested in connection with attempted murder of Christopher Payne in 1988.

Gardaí said that following a review by the Garda Serious Crime Review Team assisted by the Detective Unit attached to Crumlin Garda Station, a woman in her late 30's was arrested in Co Cavan on Monday in connection with the incident.

The woman appeared before Dublin District Court 4 at 10.30am on Tuesday morning.

Christopher Payne, 35, was attacked in his home, at 82 Rutland Grove, Crumlin, Dublin 12 on May 13, 1988.

He received serious head wounds as a result of the attack and was treated in hospital for his wounds but never recovered from the injuries inflicted.

He died six months later in November 1988.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Woman Released Without Charge Over Donegal Murder
A woman arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Donnelly has been released without charge. Mr Doherty was killed at his home in Drumacanoo on 17 June 2012. The woman, 57, was released this morning. A man, 51, who was arrested on Wednesday is still being questioned by garda.

Man Found With Serious Injuries Following Suspected Assault
Garda in Cavan have arrested two men and a woman in connection with a suspected assault on a 55-year-old man in the early hours of Tuesday morning. According to garda the victim was found at about 03:00 at the Stonebridge apartments suffering serious injuries. Two men and woman were subsequently arrested in connection with the suspected assault.

Man Arrested And Firearm Seized
A firearm has been seized and a man arrested in Crumlin, Dublin. According to gardaí, they were investigating reports of criminal damage at Rutland Grove when they witnessed a row break out between a number of men. The firearm was seized from one of the men involved in the row and he was subsequently arrested.
