Flight Cancellations Announced Over Winds

A number of flight cancellations have been announced in Ireland as stormy conditions continue to batter the country.

According to AA Roadwatch, due to strong gale force winds there are a number of flight cancellations and delays across Ireland and passengers are advised to check with their airlines website before travelling to the airport.

Meanwhile, the AA have also announced a number of road closures that includes Harry Blaney Bridge in Fanad, Donegal, which remains closed to high-sided vehicles, caravans, motorcycles, but has reopened to cars.

In Meath, the Kentstown/Duleek Road is closed between Kentstown and Mullaghfin for works until Fri 2nd March 2012, while diversion are in place via the local road between Duleek and Balrath.

Galway is busy on the N17 Tuam Rd inbound approaching the Font and outbound on the Dublin Road at Renmore.

Limerick is busy outbound on the Ballysimon Road, approaching the Ballysimon Interchange, and Cork Traffic is moving well in Cork City.

Roster Row Leads To Flight Cancellations
The ongoing row over new rosters at Aer Lingus has prompted the cancellation of some ten flights, affecting over 1,000 passengers. The part state owned flier announced last night that some 32 cabin crew personnel had been "removed from the payroll" for refusing to work to new rosters, which it introduced on Monday.

Witnesses Sought Following Fatal Road Accident In Co Louth
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road accident in Collon, Co Louth. The single vehicle road accident happened at about 1am on Tuesday morning close to Brannigan's Cross on the Collon to Tinure Road. A 32-year-old man, the sole occupant of the car, suffered serious injuries when his car left the road and struck a ditch.
