Appeal Launched For Missing Wife
An appeal has been launched for information on the disappearance of a pensioner in Naas, County Kildare.
Gardai in the area said they are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Mary Prendergast who went missing on the January 3.
Mary, who is 61-years-old, was last seen by her husband at approximately 8.30am on the day of her disappearance at their home in Bluebell, Naas.
Her car, a Silver Ford Puma, was located at Carnal Way, Kilcullen at 9.15pm that same night. Searches are continuing on Wednesday morning and Gardai are being assisted by local volunteers, Civil Defence and the Garda Underwater Unit.
Mary is described as being 5ft 2inches, with blonde hair and of slight build.
Gardai and her family said they are concerned for Mary's welfare and are appealing to the public who may have seen Mary or her car to contact them at Naas on 045 884300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Gardaí in Naas, Co Kildare, have appealed for witnesses to a fatal road collision shortly before 6am on Wednesday, 27 April. A man, aged in his 30s, died when the car he was driving left the road at Allenwood South. The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions have been put in place.
