Further Arrest In Ballyfermot Murder

A further arrest has been made in connection to the murder of a man in Ballyfermot in November of last year.

Gardai in the area, who investigating the murder of David Darcy on Cherry Orchard Avenue on the November 28, said on Thursday they have made a further arrest in relation to the murder.

A male in his 40’s was arrested on Wednesday morning and detained under the Criminal Justice Act at Ballyfermot Garda Station. He was released without charge last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Last year, a 49-year-old female appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice, Parkgate Street on December 20, charged in relation to the Murder of Mr Darcy.

The victim was killed during a shooting incident on Cherry Orchard Ave shortly before 7am when he was shot while sitting in a van.

Ballyfermot Murder Detectives Make Arrest
A fatal shooting last summer has led to an arrest today. Gardaí in Ballyfermot investigating the murder of Anthony Cannon in Ballyfermot on 17th July 2009 have arrested a man in his early 30s this morning. They said that the man is being detained in Ballyfermot Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

Further Arrest Over Paul Quinn Murder
Irish police investigating the brutal murder of NI man, Paul Quinn in Co Monaghan in 2007 have made a new arrest. A statement from the Gardaí said that detectives investigating the death of Paul Quinn in Castleblayney on 20th October 2007 arrested a man in Co Louth early this morning.
