Consumer Group's Four Steps For Saving
An Irish consumer group has launched a four step guide to making savings to help consumers in the new year.
The results from the National Consumer Agency latest market research showed that budgeting, saving more and reducing debt were Ireland's key money resolutions for 2012, while three out of four said they planned to review their personal finances.
A spokesman for the group said: "If you regularly review your finances this can help ease some of those money worries which many of us experience after Christmas. It puts you in control of your finances and helps you avoid debt problems, prepare for unexpected expenses and work towards building a nest egg for the future, no matter how much money you have."
The agency's four-step guide to managing money contains information on how to review your finances and a 'financial health check' to provide a clear picture of your financial position.
"You should then think about your goals for 2012 and work out how much you would need to save to achieve them. The budget planner helps you to keep your spending on track and finally we have lots of money savings tips, the banking cost comparisons and the Economiser to help you cut down on your costs," the spokesman added.
You can access the agency's budget guide here.
