Charge For New Year's Day assault
A man has been charged after an assault in Cork on New Years Day.
The attack left a victim in a serious condition in hospital.
Roy O’Driscoll, 23, from Rossa Avenue, College Wood in Mallow, has appeared at Fermoy District Court charged with assault causing harm.
Judge Olann Kelleher remanded him in custody with consent to bail.

Man Charged In Connection With Stabbing Teen
A man has appeared in court charged in relation to the stabbing of a 16-year-old in Drogheda, Co Louth, on Wednesday. Jamie Gallagher, 21, faces two charges, assault causing harm and producing a knife. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Thursday.

John Murray, the 83-year-old former lord mayor of Cork, has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl, despite denying the charges. Murray, of Gregg Road, Cork, faced six counts of sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the city in the mid-1990s.

Youth Charged With Murder Of Brazilian Man
A 17-year-old youth has been charged with the murder of a Brazilian man in Co Meath. Claudio Fernandes (33) died in Beaumont hospital in Dublin nearly two weeks after being found with stab wounds in Duleek on July 29. The youth, who is also Brazilian and cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared in Dunleer District Court today.

Woman Appears In Court Over Galway Death
A woman is due to appear before Waterford District Court this morning charged in connection with the death of a man in the city on Monday night. Joe O’Brien’s body was found at Scotch Marsh House apartment complex, Scotch Quay, Waterford. A post-mortem found he died from head injuries.
