Quinn Admits Budget Cuts 'Mistake'
Education Minister Ruairi Quinn has admitted it was a mistake to announce cut to funding for disadvantaged schools.
However, he did suggest that the turnaround of the plans would lead to other areas within education would be effected.
Minister Quinn said: "We make mistakes, we get things wrong, all of us. And I think the first thing to do is to put your hand up and say, yes, perhaps let’s look at that again, that is what we’re doing. But the bottom line is; I don’t have extra resources. So if I have to keep those positions in place, I have to take resources from somewhere else within my budget."
