Supreme Court Hears New Evidence In Bailey Case

Ian Bailey's fight against extradition to France will be heard at the Supreme Court today.

On Friday his lawyers said fresh evidence could be admitted in the case.

The 53 year old is wanted to be interviewed in France regarding the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier. She was found bludgeoned to death outside her west Cork holiday home in December 1996.

The former journalist from England won a legal challenge to have recently released State documents admitted as part of his appeal. His lawyers say the new information reveals serious garda wrong-doing and flawed evidence.

The five judge Supreme Court ruled the new evidence will be part of a three day appeal.
