Suspicious Death In Limerick

The circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body in Limerick on Wednesday are being treated as suspicious.

Gardai at Roxboro Road are now investigating the death of the man in Limerick, which occurred at approximately 12.35am when a 43-year-old male was found with serious injuries at Lenihan Avenue.

He was taken by ambulance to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The scene is preserved pending a technical examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.

A man was detained in Limerick last night after Gardaí found a firearm and silencer. Detective Gardaí – part of Roxboro Road station and assisted by members of the Regional Support Unit - carried out a search of a Hotel Room on the Ennis Road, Limerick City, at 10.30pm on Wednesday, as part of an ongoing operation.

Two Bodies Discovered In County Limerick
Two bodies have been discovered at a house in County Limerick. The bodies, of a man and a woman, were found in the bedroom of a house in Boolaglass at around 3am on Monday. The State Pathologist has been notified and an examination is expected to take place. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Arrested Following Shooting Incident In Limerick
A woman has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Limerick on Monday. Christy Keane was shot a number of times in the chest and arms. He is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

Shooting In Limerick Probed
Gardaí are investigating a shooting in Limerick in which a man was shot in the leg. It is understood that the man, believed to be aged in his early twenties, was found at Janesboro soccer pitch around 4am on Monday morning, suffering from two gunshot wounds to the knee, and was taken hospital for treatment.

Limerick College Website Hacked By Group Claiming To Be ISIS
An investigation has been launched after a Limerick college's website was hacked by a group claiming to be from the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The message on the website of Central College Limerick read: "THIS WEBSITE HAS BEEN HACKED BY THE ISLAMIC STATE IN SYRIA (ISIS)." "IRELAND EXPECT US".
