Man Arrested Over Hit And Run

A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit and run incident in Cabra.

Gardaí at Mountjoy said on Monday evening they had arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to the fatal road collision.

The 14-year-old, Conor Hickey, of Attracta Road in Cabra died on December 3, 2011 as a result of the injuries he sustained the previous day.

The arrested man is being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station under section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act. He was originally arrested at Cloverhill prison at around 7pm and removed from the prison on warrant before being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station. He can be detained for up to 12 hours.

The Co Meath man had been on remand there for a separate unrelated offence.

The driver of the car had failed to stop and, despite numerous appeals, failed to come forward.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dunne Murder
A man in his 20's has been arrested in connection with the killing of Eamon Dunne on 23rd April, 2010. Mr Dunne was shot outside the Fassaugh House pub in Cabra, Dublin. The man is being detained at Mountjoy garda station under the provisions of Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Man Arrested In Relation To Eamonn Dunne Murder
A man in his mid 30s has been arrested in connection with the murder of Eamonn Dunne on 23rd April 2010. He was arrested in the Dublin area earlier this morning. Mr Dunne was fatally shot in the Fassaugh House pub in Cabra.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Find
Drugs with an estimated street value of €170,000 have been seized by gardai during a raid on a property in west Dublin. Cocaine and cannabis was found during the raid at a house in Balgaddy. A gun and ammunition were also discovered. A 37-year=old has been arrested and is being detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.

Man Fatally Stabbed In Dublin
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in Dublin in the early hours of this morning, 19 July. Garda responded to reports of an incident in Clinches Court, North Strand at about 4am this morning. When they arrived at the scene a man, aged in his 40s, was found with serious stab wounds.

Five Held After Galway Explosive Seizure
Police in Galway are holding five people in connection with a "significant" seizure of explosives, made yesterday. A reported 17.5kgs of commercial explosives were discovered by officers from the Galway West Division and National Support Units, as part of an ongoing operation against organised crime.
