Gardaí Urge Safety Over Weather Warning
Gardaí have called on drivers to exercise safety as Met Eireann issue a weather warning for the coming week.
The Met said Thursday night would be cold and breezy with further wintry showers of rain, hail or sleet and some snow on hills or mountains. Meanwhile, frost and icy patches will develop in sheltered areas and widespread sharp frost was on its way for Friday night.
Gardaí said weather conditions were expected to deteriorate from Wednesday evening on, affecting road users throughout Ireland.
Gardaí sad they are urging members of the public to drive safely in these conditions, leaving plenty of space between themselves and the vehicle in front, and to not undertake any unnecessary journeys.

Met Eireann Issue Severe Weather Warning
As heavy rain and strong winds continue to batter Ireland a severe weather warning has been issued for at least the next 24 hours. Met Éireann has released the warning and are advising motorists to exercise extreme care on the roads where spot flooding and debris are making driving conditions dangerous.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murder Following Fire Death
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder over the death of a woman in a house fire in Co Cork Sunday morning. Firefighters fund the 36-year-old mother of three following a fire at her home in Passage West. A man in his 30s was later arrested on Sunday evening in connection with the death. He was taken to Togher Garda station for questioning.

Met Eireann has issued an orange weather warning for heavy rainfall this afternoon, 06 June. Thundery conditions are expected in some parts of Ireland and flooding may occur. The showers are expected to continue to break out through the rest of the day, most like across Leinster and the Northwest.

Storm Names For 2019-2020 Released
Atiyah, Brendan, Maura and Samir are among the names listed for the 2019-2020 storm season. The Dutch National Weather Service (KNMI) has joined Met Éireann and the UK Met Office for the first time in the Name our Storm campaign, which raises awareness of the threats of severe weather in Ireland and Britain before it hits.

Two Status Yellow Weather Warnings For Wind And Rain
Two Status Yellow weather warnings have been issued by national forecast Met Éireann. A wind warning for Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Kerry will come into force at 3pm today, Friday 10 January. Met Éireann said that south to southwest winds 50 to 65 km/hr, with gusts up 90 to 110 km/hr, are expected across the region.
