Forensic Search Launched After Body Find

Officers are engaging in a search of the area where the body of a Malawian woman was found on Sunday.

Gardai said they are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body at Blackhorse Avenue in Dublin on the January 29.

The discovery was made at approximately 8.30am at St David’s Terrace, on Blackhorse Ave. The State Pathologist has been notified and the scene is preserved pending a full forensic and technical examination.

Officers believe the woman had been strangled or suffocated and her remains walked to the spot where she was dumped beside some wheelie bins.

She had a plastic bag over her head and was fully clothed when found in the hold-all bag.

The road is currently closed to traffic and diversions are in place.

Investigation Launched After Woman's Body Found
Gardai have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in a house in Dublin. The body of the 43-year-old was found in a house in Rathgar Road in Rathmines just before midnight on Wednesday. A forensic examination is being carried out and the body remains at the scene.

Woman Dies After Being Hit By Car In Dublin
An elderly woman who was hit by a car in Dublin has died in hospital. The incident occurred on the Navan Road at around 8.15am on Sunday, 04 September. The driver of the car was arrested and taken to Finglas Garda Station. He has been released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
