Man Shot In Face In Blanchardstown
A man has been arrested after another man was discovered with a firearms injury to his face in Blanchardstown.
Garda said that the discovery of the injured man was the result of a 999 call to Gardaí who went to a house on Whitestown Avenue where it was reported that a shooting had occurred.
On arrival, a 25-year-old man was discovered with a firearms injury to his face. He was taken to Connolly Hospital.
A follow up investigation determined that the actual shooting had occurred on Whitestown Park and that scene was preserved as well as the one on Whitestown Avenue where the man was found.
An operation was put in place and a house was searched on Whitestown Park resulting in a 31-year-old man being arrested.
He is presently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station under section 30 of The Offences Against the State Act.
Police said they are appealing for witnesses and people with information to contact them at Blanchardstown on 01 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

A missing 24-year-old man has been found "safe and well". Alex Sherwin had been reported missing on Sunday, with garda issuing a public appeal for assistance. No information on Mr Sherwin's whereabouts have been released, but garda said the investigation had now ended. They thanked the public for their help.

Missing Cork Man Found 'Safe And Well'
A missing 52-year-old man from Cork has been found 'safe and well', garda have reported. John Ryan was last seen in the Shanakiel area of Cork City on Wednesday, 24 May. However, Mr Ryan has now been located and no further action is required.

Missing Co Mayo Man Found 'Safe And Well'
Missing Co Mayo man, David Duffy, has been found safe and well, garda have reported. Garda had issued an appeal for help in tracing 36-year-old Mr Duffy, who had not been seen since Sunday. Garda have thanked the public for their help and said that no further action is needed.

Man Dies In Stabbing Incident
A 30-year-old has died and a second man has been injured in a stabbing incident in Tullamore, Co Offaly, shortly after 7am this morning. It is believed there had been an argument in a house in the area and a Polish man was killed. The other man's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
