Man Arrested Following Serious Assault
A man has been arrested following a serious assault on a 25-year-old male in Thurles.
The incident occurred at around 1.30am on Sunday morning at Liberty Square.
The victim is in a critcal condition at the South Tipperary General hospital in Clonmel.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the incident and are asking them to contact Thurles Garda Station on Tel: 0504 25100 or the confidential telephone line.

Man Dies Following Assault In Thurles
A man has died in hospital after being attacked in Thurles at the weekend. James Tynan, 25, sustained serious head injuries following an assault outside a nightclub. Mr Tynan had been socialising in Hayes Hotel on Saturday night when he was assaulted in what is believed to be an unprovoked attack.

Firearm And Cannabis Seized In Dublin
An AK47 assault rifle and cannabis with an estimated street value of 4,000 euros have been seized in a raid in Dublin. A man in his twenties was arrested during the raid, which took place shortly after 9am on Wednesday at the house in Gloucester Place in the centre of the city.
