Three Arrested With Gun, Ammunition And Drugs

Three people have been arrested in Dublin following the seizure of a firearm, ammunition and drugs worth an estimated €500,000.

Gardaí from the National Criminal Investigation Bureau made the arrests at a house in Palmers Court, Palmerstown at about 10pm last night.

A revolver and bullets as well as quantities of ecstasy, cannabis and heroin valued at a combined €500,000 were discovered during the operation.

Two men, one in his 20s and another in his 30s, and a woman in her 20s were arrested at the scene.

They are being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Lucan and Ronanstown Garda stations.

Three Arrested Following Drugs Find
A couple from Cork and an Irishman have been arrested in Spain after €6 million of cannabis was discovered on board an Irish yacht. Approximately 500kg of the drug was discovered on board the vessel by Spanish authorities. It is believed to have been travelling from Morocco. Gardai are liaising with Spanish police in relation to the three suspects.

Drugs, Alcohol & Gold Bars Uncovered In Dublin
Gardaí in Dublin have uncovered drugs, alcohol, gold bars and a large amount of cash. A man in his 30s was arrested following a house search in Inchicore on Thursday 05 December. The suspect was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at Kevin Street Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.

Man Arrested Following Drugs Seizure
A man, understood to be in his 30s, has been arrested following a drugs seizure at his home in Tuam, Co Galway. When the house, located in the Dangan area, was searched, cannabis herb and plants were found. It is thought they had a street value of up to €100,000. Gardaí have said it was a sophisticated grow house at the property.

Police Hit By Drugs Scandal
Three members of the PSNI have resigned after they failed drugs tests - and a Garda has been questioned over a Dublin drugs ring. Cocaine and cannabis were detected in the results of the substance testing, the PSNI confirmed and, as a result, three officers left their jobs before the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings.

Garda On Trial Over Assault
A member of An Garda Síochána is on trial today at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, standing accused of assaulting a man in the Capital in 2007. Garda Brendan Whitty, 33, has pleaded not guilty to the assault of Keith Murphy on Thomas Street Dublin 2 on 20 September 2007.
