Greenpeace Stage Protest At Apple Building

Greenpeace protestors have staged an hour-long protest at Apple’s European headquarters in Cork this morning.

It is understood the protest was about the companies use of coal to power data centres for cloud computing.

Gardai and the fire service were called after four protestors appeared on the roof of the Apple building at Holyhill in Cork at around 7am while other protestors distributed leaflets to staff.

After an hour on the roof the protestors came down voluntarily.

It is understood to be part of a series of protests taking place across Europe.
