Brothers Sentenced To 11 Years After Failing To Buy Alibi's

Wayne and John Dundon have been sentenced to 11and a half years in jailed after failing to buy themselves alibi's.

The pair were charged with threatening to kill their youngest brother's ex-girlfriend, April Collins, and her two brothers, and today the Irish Independent has revealed their attempts to secure alibi’s in exchange for cash.

It is understood the feared brothers ordered associates to make offers worth up to €50,000 to four individuals to give testimony on their behalf while the trial at the Special Criminal Court was ongoing.

But gardai were aware of this, and were monitoring attempts to pervert the course of justice. Two potential witnesses actually attended the Special Criminal Court trial. One man who has more than 30 previous criminal convictions was described by sources as an "alibi for hire".

In the end no one offered any testimony for the brothers and the pair were last night beginning their sentences in an isolation unit in Cloverhill prison.
