Phoenix Park Proposed As New Children's Hospital Site
An eight-acre site at the Phoenix Park Racecourse in Dublin has been put forward as a potential location for the new National Children's Hospital.
Dublin-based firm Flynn & O'Flaherty have said that the hospital could be built for €440m, more than €200m less than the proposed development at the Mater Hospital site.
The developers say their site has full planning permission for up to nine storeys and the project could be completed by 2016.
A review group set up to examine locations for the National Children's Hospital is due to report its findings at the end of this month.
The findings will then be brought before Cabinet.
