Philip Doyle Guilty Of Baby's Manslaughter
Philip Doyle has been found guilty of the manslaughter of his ex-fiancée's baby son seven years ago.
34-year-old Doyle, of Tinakilly, Aughrim, Co Wicklow had pleaded not guilty to the murder of three-and-a-half month old Ross Murphy in April 2005.
A ruling by the judge last week resulted in the charge being reduced to manslaughter and the jury today reached a unanimous guilty verdict after deliberating for just over three hours.

A TEENAGER with intellectual difficulties has been found guilty of killing the pensioner he claimed sexually abused him when he was younger. 19-year-old Brendan McGovern, of Carrigallen, Leitrim, was on trial at the Central Criminal Court, charged with murdering John Golden (76) in Co Cavan on October 6th, 2010.

John Dundon has been found guilty of the murder Shane Geoghegan from Limerick. Dundon, 31, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for ordering the killing that led to Mr Geoghegan being shot five times as he walked home almost five years ago. The gunman, Barry Doyle, was jailed for life in February 2012.

A woman has been found guilty of murdering her husband three and a half years ago. 40-year-old Tanya Doyle of Pairc Gleann Trasna, Aylesbury stabbed Paul Byrne more than 60 times on 4 September 2009. While she admitted killing Mr Byrne, Doyle pleaded not guilty to his murder.

A Louth man accused of killing 18-year-old Niall Dorr in Dundalk over two years ago is to be sentenced in mind-December. 36-year-old Douglas Ward pleaded guilty to manslaughter, but not guilty to murder. His plea has been accepted by the Central Criminal Court by lawyers representing the Director of Public Prosecutions.
