Passenger Shelter To Be Built On Cleggan Pier
Minister of State at the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Dinny McGinley T.D., has announced that he has sanctioned a grant of €15,000 to assist Galway County Council to erect a shelter on Cleggan Pier, Co. Galway.
The County Council will foot the remainder of the costs of the work.
The pier serves the community of Inishbofin and over forty thousand passengers use it each year. The Minister of State said that he is delighted to be able to sanction a grant to provide this shelter.
He said: "I am happy that my Department can sanction this grant for Galway County Council to provide this passenger shelter at Cleggan Pier. It will be of assistance to the community of Inishbofin and to the thousands of people who visit the island each year,."

Investigation Launched After Man's Body Recovered From Sea
An investigation has been launched into the discovery of a man's body in the sea at Dinish Pier, Castletownbere, Co Cork. Emergency services were called to the pier after a body was found in the water between two tied up trawlers at about 14:00 on Thursday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is due to be carried out today.

Galway Man Remanded In Custody Following Assault
A man from County Galway has been remanded in custody in relation to a serious assault on another man at Rosseveal Pier, Connemara. Jason McLoughlin, 21, was charged with assaulting David Kilblane, 23, causing him harm on 3rd February.

Body In Car Identified As Missing Teacher
The body which was found in a submerged car near Rossaveal Pier in Galway last week has been identified as that of a missing Dublin schoolteacher. Gardai have confirmed that the remains are those of 41-year-old Roseanne Kenny, from Kilmacud. Ms Kenny disappeared on New Year's Eve whilst on holiday in Connemara with her husband and brother.

According to reports, a man, aged in his 20s, has died after the vehicle entered the sea at about 5.10am this morning at Árainn Mhór (Arranmore) off the coast of Donegal.

Man Missing As Car Goes Off Co Wicklow Pier
A search and rescue operation is underway after a car went into the sea off the pier in Arklow, Co Wicklow, around 06:00 on Tuesday morning. A woman, believed to be in her 20s, is being treated in St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown. Gardaí are still searching for a man, who is in his 30s.
