Driver Arrested After Gun Find
A 25-year-old man was arrested in Dublin yesterday after a gun was found in the car he was driving, garda have said.
The car was stopped and searched at about 5.30pm on North Circular Road by gardai on patrol.
Officers found a firearm and other implements in the car. The man, who was the only person in the car, was arrested and taken to Mountjoy Garda station.
He was later released without charge, while garda prepare a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Elderly Man Seriously Injured After Assault In Cork
An elderly man has been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in an overnight attack in county Cork. The pensioner, a man in his 70s, received a punctured lung and other injuries when he was set upon in a car park in Sleaveen East in Macroom. A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene and taken to Bandon Garda Station.

Three Arrested After Garda Intercept Stolen Car On M50
Garda have arrested three men when they intercepted a stolen car on the M50. Garda began a search when a car stolen from a residence in Drimnagh on 08 July was spotted in the early hours of this morning in the Leixlip area. Garda traced the car and attempted to make a stop but the vehicle fled the scene.

Man Arrested Following Fatal Crash In Kilkenny
A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash in Co Kilkenny. A man died in the collision, which happened at around 1am on the westbound carriage of the N24 Piltown bypass. The second car involved failed to remain at the scene. A 53-year-old man is currently being detained at Thomastown Garda Station.
