Gardaí Appeal For Pensioner Seriously Injured In Attack
Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for witnesses to an incident which occurred in Kilkenny City at approximately 11.30am yesterday morning 10th July.
An 86 year old woman was assaulted and robbed by a man, as she walked on College View, Walkin Street. She was injured during the incident, and is currently in St. Luke’' Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A male in his 30s was arrested and is currently detained at Kilkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056-7775000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.

A man has been arrested after a woman was abducted from her home in Co Longford. The incident happened near Edgeworthstown just after 4pm on Saturday. The mother-of-four was violently abducted from her home when she was looking after her children. Three other children were also in the house at the time.

Garda said 42-year-old Aoife Petrani failed to return to her home at St. Patricks Gate, Outrath Rd, Kilkenny from her work in Dublin on 24 January.
