Shop Worker In A 'Stable' Condition After Attempted Robbery

A shop worker who was stabbed in the hand with a syringe during an attempted robbery at the weekend is reported to be in a stable condition.

Mr Jahan Zib Butt, the store supervisor, was stabbed during the incident at the Spar shop on Jame's Street on Saturday night.

At the time he was reported to be in a serious condition, fortunately he is now stable.

He was taken to St James's Hospital after he collapsed.

His condition is not thought to be directly connected with the stabbing.

Man Remains In Critical Condition After Robbery
A shop worker remains in a critical condition in hospital following an armed robbery in Dublin at the weekend. A man in his 30s entered a Spar shop on James Street on Saturday night and threatened two members of staff with a syringe. After a struggle, a man was arrested at the scene. He has been remanded in custody.

5-Year-Old Who Picked Up Pipe Bomb In 'Serious But Stable' Condition
A bicycle helmet saved a young schoolboy, who lost part of his hand, from serious head injury when a pipe bomb exploded after he picked it up yesterday morning. Gardai said that five-year-old PJ Duffy, of Sycamore Drive, Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow, could have lost his life in the savage and indiscriminate attack.

New Mum's Swine Flu Condition 'Stable'
A new mother airlifted from Northern Ireland to London after contracting swine flu is now in a stable condition. The 36-year-old woman was diagnosed with the virus shortly after giving birth at the Erne Hospital in Enniskillen last week. She was then moved to Craigavon Area Hospital, where the diagnoses was confirmed.
