Fire At Oil Depot On The R448

Emergency services are at the scene of a fire at an oil depot on the R448 Kilmacow to Waterford road.

The fire was discovered shortly before midday today.

Gardaí are asking local motorists to avoid the area. Gardaí are also asking those travelling on the Dublin/Cork motorway to not exit at the Mullinavat exit.

Local diversions are currently in place.

Mountjoy Prison Cell Fire
A fire broke out in a cell at Dublin's Mountjoy Prison on Thursday night, according to reports. It is understood that a prisoner had set fire to a cell. However, it is believed that prison staff and fire crews were able to contain the fire quickly. No-one was injured in the incident.

Rise In House Prices Outside Dublin
House prices outside Dublin have increased by 13 % over the past year, according to a report by property website Daft.ie. Home buyers are now typically paying €205,000, compared to €190,000 this time last year. Prices in urban areas of Cork, Galway and Limerick are rising at a rate of almost 20% a year.

Garda Believe Alan Desmond Killed Over 'Lost' Guns
Garda investigating the murder of Alan Desmond, whose body was found by children at the weekend, believe his killer to be a local criminal gang. According to the Irish Independent Desmond (37), described as a loner, was asked to meet former associates near Killinarden Hill in Tallaght, Co Dublin.
