Council Issues Water Warning

Dublin City Council and the HSE have warned residents and businesses across north Dublin not to use their water for drinking or cooking purposes until further notice.

From the Howth Road to Castle Avenue and from the Howth Rd at Collins Avenue to Clontarf Rd. Dublin City Council have already mobilized water tankers in the area.

They are located at the following locations: Castle Avenue at Kincora Avenue and St Lawrence Road at the Howth Road.

Dublin City Council will continue to carry out remedial works and continue to sample the water supply in order to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

A Boil Water notice has been re-issued for households and businesses supplied by the Leixlip Water Treatment Plant. Irish Water, in consultation with the HSE and Fingal County Council, have issued the new notice "as a precaution" to protect the health of customers.

Water Shortages For Dublin
Dublin City Council is to introduce water restrictions later to deal with supply shortages, it has emerged. A spokesman for the council said water restrictions will mainly be in the form of a reduction in supply between 7pm and 7am on December 8th and 9th.
