'Viable' Pipe Bomb Made Safe In Limerick
Following the weekend discovery of a pipe bomb, Gardaí in Limerick have expressed concern over the possible escalation of a feud between Traveller families.
The device, described by garda as “viable”, was found around 10am on Saturday, wrapped in plastic in a gully near a house in Rathkeale, in west Limerick, the Irish Times have reported.
It was recovered following a tip-off and garda said it would have caused serious injury or death if it had been detonated.
It is understood many Traveller families live in and around Rathkeale, with the Irish Times reporting there has an escalation in recent weeks of a dispute between three families.
