Three Arrested Over Cash Van Robbery

Three people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a cash-in-transit van near Rathfarnham Shopping Centre in Dublin this afternoon.

A cash box containing an undisclosed sum of money was taken during the robbery.

A man armed with a gun approached a van on Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, at 12.45pm and demanded the money.

He fled the scene in a red Skoda Octavia that was nearby.

The car was later found burnt out on Springfield Avenue in Rathfarnham.

Two men and a woman were arrested in the Ballyfermot area.

The three people arrested are being detained at Terenure and Rathmines garda stations.

Man In Court Over Rathfarnham Bank Robbery
A man in his 30s is due to appear before a sitting of Tallaght District Court this morning charged in relation to a bank robbery at Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on Tuesday. Around noon, a lone gunman entered the Bank branch and demanded money from the cashier.

Three Arrested In Connection To Armed Cash Van Robbery
Two men and a woman were arrested last night in connection to a €40,000 armed hold-up in Dublin at the weekend. The suspects were detained after a number of garda searches, in which a gun, the cash box stolen in the raid, and about €38,000 in cash were recovered. A number of houses in the south Dublin area were searched.

Three Arrested After Armoured Van Robbery
Three people are being held after a cash-in-transit van was stolen in Drogheda, Co Louth on Thursday morning. At 10.00am, Gardaí received a call to say a van was being held-up by an armed gang outside a shop at Bryanstown, Drogheda. The group stole the security van and left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Three Arrested After Post Office Robbery
Three men have been arrested in following an armed raid on a post office in Arklow, Co Wickow. An armed gang, one of whom was carrying a gun and another a sledgehammer, escaped with between €20,000 and €30,000 in cash following the armed assault at around 9.30am this morning. No shots were fired during the robbery and nobody was injured.

Man Arrested For Bank Robbery
A man has been arrested this morning in relation to a bank robbery in Rathfarnham Shopping Centre on 11th October. The incident occurred at 2.10pm when a lone raider armed with a shotgun, entered the Bank of Ireland, threatened staff and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He left across Butterfield Avenue in the direction of Marion Road.
