Two Injured After Luas And Bin Lorry Collide

Disruptions have been caused to the Dublin Red Line Luas service following a collision between a tram and a bin truck.

The crash happened at the junction between Benburb Street and Temple Street West.

Both the Laus and lorry driver are being treated in hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Luas red line service is only operating from Tallaght/Saggart to Heuston and between the Four Courts and The Point.

Dublin Blaze Disrupts Traffic
A fire in a derelict building in James Street in Dublin caused traffic disruption earlier on Thursday. Gardaí and fire crews searched the building, but it is not thought that anyone was inside when the blaze broke out. James Street was closed to inbound traffic and diversions put in place, but it has since reopened.

Luas Camera System Welcomed But More Needs To Be Done - Labour
A new system of traffic cameras at Luas junctions have been welcomed, but Labour TD Sean Kenny, a member of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, has said that more need to be done. "A camera system designed to detect motorists that break red lights at junctions where the Luas crosses other roads, is to be put online later on this year.

Body Found On Greystones Luas Line
An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man's body on the Luas line between Bray and Greystones yesterday, 20 April. It is understood that the body was found shortly after 7am between Greystones train station and the first tunnel at Bray Head.

Luas Red Line Docklands Extension Opens
The Luas Red Line extension to Dublin's docklands has opened to the public for the first time today, with free transport for commuters until 3pm today. There are four new stops on the new extension - at George's Dock, Mayor Square, Spencer Dock and the Point.

SIPTU Luas Drivers Vote To Accept Labour Court Recommendation
Luas driver members of SIPTU have voted to accept a Labour Court recommendation to resolve their dispute with Transdev. The voted was passed by 108 to 56 in a ballot that was counted on Friday, 03 June.
