SIPTU Announce Strike Action For Luas Drivers

SIPTU member Luas drivers have voted in favour of strike action in a dispute over working conditions.

The drivers have previously rejected a Labour Court recommendation some weeks ago in a dispute that started last March.

In March, the union announced it had started talks with management at Veolia, the Luas operator, over rostering and a decision by the company to let go of staff at the end of their 12-month fixed term contracts.

Drivers will now serve three weeks' notice of their intended strike action.
