Medical Checks Advised After Prostitute Tests Positive For HIV
After it emerged that a prostitute who had been operating in Letterkenny recently is HIV positive, anyone who has used the services of prostitutes in Co Donegal has been urged to seek medical attention.
Supt Vincent O'Brien issued the advice following the disclosure at a court sitting yesterday.
A transgender prostitute from Brazil and a male prostitute from Spain appeared at Glenties District Court yesterday following a garda raid on a suspected brothel in Letterkenny.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said that his two clients were victims who had arrived in Ireland just four weeks ago and had been trafficked into prostitution.

Man Dies In Donegal Road Crash
A man has died in a road crash in Donegal. The collision, between a car and a lorry, occurred at Tullytrap on the main Letterkenny to Lifford Road, on Thursday, 04 August. The driver of the car was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, however he later died from his injuries. A passenger in the vehicle is currently being treated in hospital.

Three men have been arrested after a drug seizure at Carraigans, County Donegal yesterday evening. According to a Gardaí spokesman this morning, at approximately 5.00pm yesterday, Garda from Letterkenny carried out a search of a house in the Carraigans area.

Businessman Sentenced To Five Years For Raping Prostitute
A Waterford Businessman has been sentenced to five years after being convicted of raping a prostitute in a luxury hotel. Billy Keogh, 46, who is married with six children was found guilty in Feburary of raping the 26 year-old Croatian woman who was working as a prostitute at the time.
